During this Monday, satellite images revealed that a giant convoy of Russian tanks is heading to the capital of Ukraine with the aim of invading Kyiv and, thereby, ensuring the capture of Ukrainian territory.
On the fifth day of the invasion of Ukraine by Russian military troops authorized by President Vladimir Putin, explosions continued to be reported in different cities, while anti-aircraft sirens blared at all times.
It was last Thursday at dawn (local time), which, after a speech by the Russian leader on national television, gave the green light to a military operation within the territory governed by Volodímir Zelenski, which so far has left more than 300 civilians dead.
Amid violent clashes between the Russian and Ukrainian militaries, civilians have headed for underground shelters as they are besieged by missile attacks coming from all directions.
With each passing hour, the war between the Russian offensive and the Ukrainian defensive is getting closer to Kyiv, as the former is much larger in number, both in military and military equipment.
“In fact, every day the enemy sends more and more forces. But our glorious armed forces are basically destroying everything that reaches Kyiv, which remains the main target to attack,” Ukrainian Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyy said to the BBC network.
At the end of this last day of February of the current year, most of the Russian militia that has been sent by Vladimir Putin to Ukraine was around 30 kilometers north of Kyiv, according to what was reported by the Ministry of Defense from the United Kingdom.
However, the satellite images taken at noon this Monday (Ukrainian time), show how a huge convoy made up of Russian tanks transits near the Antonov airport, about 27 kilometers away from the centre of the Ukrainian capital.
As indicated by Maxar Technologies, the company that released the satellite photos, the convoy is approximately 64 kilometers long and is made up of “hundreds of armoured vehicles, tanks, artillery and logistics support vehicles.”
