Twitter is working on the possibility of leaving a conversation thread where the user has been tagged, a function different from the one that currently exists on the platform and allows conversations to be muted.
There are times when Twitter users discover that they have been tagged in a ‘tweet’ that has generated a conversation with more people, without really wanting to participate in it. As shared by reverse engineering expert Jane Manchun Wong, the company is working on a new feature to change this situation.
This is the ability to leave a conversation, which will cause the user’s name to be untagged from the original ‘tweet’ and replies, will prevent it from being mentioned, and will not generate notifications. The user, even if he leaves the conversation, will be able to continue seeing the conversation.
Currently, there is the possibility of muting the conversations, an option that avoids receiving notifications of new answers that are published in the thread where the user has been mentioned. The main difference with the new feature is that the new feature breaks the username link, leaving it in plain text.
