Apple would be working on an iPhone that would not have a notch on the screen

Since Apple launched the iPhone X , all Apple phones have a notch at the top of the screen. What is it for? Well, that notch houses the front camera, facial recognition technology (Face ID), among other functions.

Although most brands stopped including the classic notch (replacing it with a smaller one or holes in the screen), those from Cupertino continue to use this component, although that could change very soon.

According to Unocero, the company founded by Steve Jobs has just registered a patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) that shows a mechanism that would put an end to the notch in their equipment.

According to the publication, Apple would place the front camera and Face ID under the screen, like the latest cell phones presented by Oppo ; however, there is a difference that will enhance the photos.

In general, teams that have the front camera below the screen do not take good photos. To solve this problem, the Cupertino people have designed a mechanism that bends a small section of the panel.

For the user, this action would be practically invisible, since they would only see a part of the screen darken when they want to take a photo using the front camera of this iPhone that would arrive in the coming years.

Rotating and pop-up cameras

Companies like Samsung or Huawei opted for rotating and pop-up cameras with the aim that the screen of their cell phones does not have notch. The problem with that mechanism is that it prevents users from having Face ID on their phone.
