Reinaldo Rueda is no longer the coach of Colombia

through a statement, the Colombian Soccer Federation (FCF) confirmed that Reinaldo Rueda is no longer the coach of the Colombian soccer team.

After being eliminated from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after the match against Venezuela, Rueda’s second era at the head of the national team ended in the same way as the previous one, without a ticket to the World Cup.

After losing against Uruguay and Ecuador, Rueda came to the team, and achieved the third position in the last Copa América, but did not endorse his good actions by being left out of the World Cup event.

Rueda directed the team for 22 games, of which 14 were qualifying, seven in Copa América, and one friendly match.

Of those games he won only 7, tied 10, and lost 5, posting a poor performance of just 46.9 ERA .

The announcement of his departure

Through a message, the FCF announced the decision to leave behind the management of Rueda.

“In this sense, we express to Professor Rueda and his collaborators our most sincere wishes for success in their future work and in their personal projects, but not without also expressing our appreciation for their dedication and work.

“The Executive Committee will analyze and evaluate the existing options or those that may exist, in order to determine who should assume the technical direction of our Colombia Men’s National Team in the near future,” the FCF statement concluded.
