“The danger of nuclear war is serious and real,” says Lavrov

Segei Lavrov has raised the specter of an eventual nuclear war. “The danger is serious, real and should not be underestimated ,” the head of Russian diplomacy said in an interview.

According to Lavrov, Russia starts from the principle that a nuclear war is something “inadmissible”, but adds that the risk is “quite significant” and that Moscow “would not like to see these risks artificially inflated”.

As regards the negotiations with kyiv, he was not optimistic.

“Many of us are convinced that the real position of Ukraine is determined in Washington, London and other Western capitals, and therefore our political analysts say: why talk to the Zelensky team? We have to talk to the Americans. negotiate with them, reach some kind of agreement,” he said.

However, Lavrov pointed out that they are still negotiating with the Ukrainians and that, in any case, the war will end with a treaty-based on “the real situation of military operations.”

The bombing of railway infrastructure to prevent the passage of foreign weapons

Russian forces on Monday focused their bombardments on train stations and railway facilities at various points in central and western Ukraine, with the aim of hindering logistics, paralyzing key infrastructure in Ukraine and, above all, cutting off military supply routes. from abroad. The attacks left five dead and more than 40 wounded.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reiterated that Russia will not be able to win this war and has asked his fellow citizens to do everything possible to make the presence of Russian troops in Ukraine “unbearable”.

“Everyone in the world, even those who openly did not support us, now agrees that it is in Ukraine that the fate of Europe, the fate of world security, and the fate of the democratic system is decided,” Zelensky said.
