Russian forces tightened the siege on Kyiv this Saturday, March 12, and bombed civilian areas of other Ukrainian cities, such as Mykolaiv and Mariupol, in a desperate humanitarian situation after almost two weeks of siege.
Russian shelling also ripped through Vasylkiv airport, some 40 km south of Kyiv, where a fuel depot caught fire, the city’s mayor said.
The northwestern suburbs of the capital, such as Irpin and Busha, have been under Russian bombs for days, while Moscow’s armoured vehicles advance along the northeastern axis.
The Ukrainian authorities have regained control of the port city of Skadovsk, in the south of the country. This was announced by Mayor Oleksandr Yakovlev, according to The Kyiv Independent.
The official stated that Russian troops are no longer in the city. In addition, he indicated that the community recovered the supply of electricity and gas, and also the drinking water service.
