Russian troops bombed oil refinery in the city of Lisichansk, attacked 8 cities of Ukraine in 24 hours

Nine civilians were killed and more than 50 were injured in an attack in Kharkiv on Friday. Whereas, two people died in the other area adjacent to it.

Russian troops bombed an oil refinery in the Ukrainian city of Lisichansk, causing a massive fire there. Giving this information, the governor of the region said that this is not the first time that an oil refinery has been targeted and alleged that Russian troops are trying to destroy the local emergency service. He said the refinery had no fuel at the time of the attack and the fire broke out in the “remnants of oil material”.

Ukraine’s presidential office said on Saturday that in the past 24 hours, Russian forces opened fire in eight regions – Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv in the east, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava and Kirovohrad in central Ukraine and Mykoliev and Kherson in the south.

According to the report, nine civilians were killed and more than 50 people were injured in the attack on Friday in Kharkiv. Whereas, two people died in the other area adjacent to it. In the south, there were horrific attacks on Mykoliv on Friday and Saturday. According to the presidential office, five people were killed and 15 were injured in the airstrike. The head of the regional legislature, Hannah Jamazeeva, said on Saturday that 39 people were injured in the attacks in the past 24 hours. Jamazeeva said Russian troops also targeted residential areas.

More than 1,000 citizens hostage

Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk said on television on Saturday that 700 Ukrainian soldiers and more than 1,000 civilians are currently being held hostage by Russian troops. More than half of the citizens are women. Vereshchuk said that Kyiv intends to exchange captive soldiers, because Ukraine has the same number of Russian troops in its possession. They demand the release of civilians “without any conditions”, he said.
