One Week To Go Until The Highly-Anticipated Hero Cup

Just one week remains until the inaugural Hero Cup arrives at Abu Dhabi Golf Club from January 13-15, 2023.

The 2023 Ryder Cup will be played between Continental Europe and Great Britain and Ireland in Rome, and European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald will be present in September to oversee preparations.

There will be a fantastic mix of Major Champions, Ryder Cup stalwarts, and potential new talent taking on the National Course in a week.

Donald has announced 20 participants, including two playing Captains, Francesco Molinari and Tommy Fleetwood.

On Friday, at 11:05 am, the first fourballs will begin, and on Saturday, at 7:35 am and again at 12:20 pm, the first and second sessions of foursomes will get underway.

Finally, on Sunday, beginning at 10:35, a single session of singles matches will be conducted, featuring all 20 participants.

To prepare for Europe’s September trip to Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, the Englishman is currently in Abu Dhabi, hoping to have a series of impressive outings.

 

“When I took on the post of Captain, it was always my ambition to have a team match play game like this on the schedule in the lead-up to the Ryder Cup,

” Donald said. I appreciate the quick action taken by the DP World Tour team.

Given that “professional golf is, in its essence, a lonely sport,” it is beneficial for players to be exposed to team environments and the new routines that come with being involved in activities like these.

While 2018 Open Champion Molinari will captain Continental Europe, six-time DP World Tour champion Tommy Fleetwood will lead Great Britain and Ireland.

The infamous “Moliwood” pairing of Molinari and Fleetwood won four points in a row at Le Golf National in the 2018 Ryder Cup.
