Influencer Vita Aranda dies in shooting at music festival

On Sunday night, four men opened fire at Ja’umina Fest, a music festival in the city of San Bernardino, Paraguay. 

According to the authorities, the shooting, which has so far killed two and wounded five, was planned to end the life of José Luis “Kuré” Bogado Quevedo, an alleged drug trafficker with an international arrest warrant, and who arrived at the hospital in serious condition. Like him, Marcelo Eladio Monteggia Díaz, also associated with organized crime, is in the hospital under police observation.

The attack occurred in a box where the aforementioned men were, in addition to Marcos Ignacio Rojas Mora, who died on the spot. The place was near the toilets, an area where Cristina “Vita” Aranda was waiting for her partner to come out of the bathroom, but the bullets surprised her.

Cristina “Vita” Aranda was shot in the head and was rushed to the hospital, where she was intubated and reported with brain mass loss and reserved status, but unfortunately did not survive. 

“She came in very serious, she stopped, they tried to revive her for 25 minutes, but unfortunately she never came out,” said Yolanda González, director of the Itauguá National Hospital.

The influencer , who was classified as a fatal collateral victim, was 29 years old and became popular for appearing on the television program Calle 7. Her fame gave her the opportunity to start a career as a model, in addition to using social networks for commercial purposes. . 

 

Vita Aranda was the mother of three children and the wife of soccer player Iván Torres, from the Paraguayan Olimpia club, with whom she had been in divorce proceedings since the end of last year. Iván was at the musical event, but he was unharmed. 

On her Instagram account , where she gathered more than half a million followers, the influencer’s relatives have posted the time and place to give her the last goodbye.
