Delhi Curfew: While the metro and buses will operate at full capacity in Delhi, it is prudent to be aware of these restrictions before to leaving home.

Due to the rising number of corona virus infections in Delhi, a curfew has been imposed. The Delhi government has instituted a weekend curfew in an effort to stop the spread of corona. However, the government has declared that city buses and metro trains will run at full capacity this week due to long lines at bus stops and metro stations, which is welcome news for commuters. Delhi Metro has now provided a wealth of information by tweeting about the government’s decision.

Traveling on one’s feet is out of the question

‘Public Service Announcement,’ the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) tweeted. Until further notice, the Delhi Metro will operate at full seating capacity in accordance with current DDMA norms.

Remember the following points:

  • Always wear a face mask.
  • At the gate, make sure you and your possessions are clean.
  • Avoid eye contact with others.
  • When using the subway, remember not to stand up.
  • The number of people infected with the coronavirus continues to climb.

Corona virus infections in Delhi have risen dramatically in recent weeks, prompting the city to implement a weekend curfew. The city’s infection rate has reached 8.37 percent, with 5,481 cases reported. The Delhi administration was concerned that the long lines at bus stops and metro stations may serve as a breeding ground for the virus. There had been a 50% rise in the number of seats available in public transportation, including buses and metros.

There will be a curfew on Saturday and Sunday,” Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia stated. No one should leave the house unless absolutely required. It will be in effect from Friday night until Monday morning.” As a result of congestion at bus stations and metro stations, “there is a need to run buses and metro trains at maximum capacity,” stated Sisodia. No one will be allowed to travel without a face mask.

Yellow alerts of this type were sent on December 28th.

DDMA issued a ‘yellow’ notice on December 28 when the infection rate surpassed 0.5 percent and shuttered cinemas and gyms, which were subsequently reopened. On odd-even days, non-essential stores were permitted to open, and half the passengers were allowed to seat on the metro and buses.
