A Lucky Friday The 13th

Currently, you are reading this on Friday the 13th. Oh no! The day associated with bad luck could turn out to be the warmest of January 2023. There will be a widespread southerly flow across the West and Montana as a result of a major storm in the eastern Pacific.

Because of this, highs across much of Montana will be in the forties and fifties. The northeastern part of the map might still be in the thirties, but that’s far better news than the recent lows. Light snow, rain, and freezing rain might cause another “blip” on the radar late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

 

 

Two different bouts of freezing rain have hit north-central Montana in the past week. On Friday night and Saturday early, there is a chance of a brief ice. The remnants of that weak system should have passed by Saturday afternoon, but early on the day might be slippery.

There will be a slight shift in the weather this weekend due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Sunday will be cloudier and cooler than Saturday’s high temperature due to the system that passed on Saturday.

 

 

Daytime highs will primarily be in the 30s. By Monday, the state will be hit by yet another wave of low pressure. While flurries or light snowfall are likely to fall over a wide area, considerable accumulation is not.

Temperatures in the 20s and 30s are likely with rainfall of 1 to 2 inches. There’s a chance of snow showers with another front late next week, and more snow the weekend after that. By month’s end, it looks like a typical January day.
