What is Pose Method to reduce belly fat?

The Pose Method is a teaching and learning approach for human motion and sport-specific skills.

Stomach reduction without incisions (Primary Endoluminal Obesity Surgery – POSE) is the safest and least invasive surgical option to treat obesity. It is performed endoscopically and consists of making a series of folds in the stomach to reduce its capacity. There are different very effective abdominal surgeries that, in turn, carry a high risk, so they are only prescribed in case of extreme obesity. Being an incision-less technique, POSE has a number of advantages compared to other surgeries:

  • Minor pain
  • Lower risk of infection
  • Absence of external scars
  • Quick recovery
  • Short hospital or outpatient admission

What does it consist of?

Some folds are made in the stomach reducing its capacity orally so that the patient is satiated by ingesting a little amount of food. It is a reversible procedure; the sutures in the folds could remain in the stomach for a lifetime without problem but, if necessary, it is possible to undo them and return the stomach to its original state.

Who is it recommended for?

Patients with a BMI (Body Mass Index)> 27, from grade II overweight to severe type II-III obesity, can undergo this procedure with highly satisfactory results.

How long does the intervention last?

Usually less than an hour; It is done under general anaesthesia and can be performed on an outpatient basis, without hospital admission, because it is simple and considered low risk. But, depending on each case, the surgeon will determine how to proceed.

How long is the recovery?

Recovery is quick and not very painful, since there are no external incisions or scars. Although a specific diet must be followed for a few days, the patient can return to his daily life in 2-3 days.

Results

Although patients begin to lose weight the day after undergoing the intervention, to achieve optimal results it is necessary to undergo a program of reeducation of eating habits and lifestyle. There are several doctors specializing in the digestive system, a dietician, nutritionist and psychoneuroimmonologist and a psychologist who will advise and accompany you throughout the process to help you lose weight and give you the necessary tools so that you do not get it back.
