Vaginal surgery is all the rage among British teenage girls

Hundreds of British girls under the age of 14 have undergone vaginal surgery in the last six years.

The vaginal surgery includes different types of interventions that aim to improve the appearance of the female genitalia for reasons that may be. The alarm has jumped in the country as a result of knowing a figure provided by the London newspaper Daily Mail , according to which in the last six years 343 operations of this type have been carried out on children under 14 years of age.

As a result, various researchers at the University College Hospital in London have denounced that there is no minimum age limit for this type of intervention. From his point of view, the increase in demand is due to the fact that the information on the matter that can currently be found on the internet is scarce and unreliable.

Likewise, they affirm that this type of information comes mainly from private clinics that do not warn with exactitude of the risks or the convenience or not of carrying out these interventions according to the age of the patient, and that the use of confusing terminology can end up working as a strategy to convince of the supposed benefits of these procedures.

Not surprisingly, a recent study determined that, per year, there are more than 2,000 women who undergo different interventions mainly dedicated to reshaping the appearance of the vaginal lips in public hospitals, while private clinics receive several thousand patients in the same period.
