Improves cellulite, flaccidity, stretch marks and dark circles thanks to Carboxytherapy

What is Carboxytherapy?

Carboxytherapy is a treatment that in recent times has been giving many satisfactions to our patients, with a very safe and innocuous technique that consists of the subcutaneous injection of carbon dioxide (CO2), a procedure that is performed with a suitable device that heats the gas and a very fine needle is injected

What is carbon dioxide (CO2)?

CO2 It is a therapeutic gas that is used for medicinal purposes not only in the field of aesthetic medicine but also in laparoscopic surgeries, for example. Its purpose is to stimulate vascularization, thus improving the supply of oxygen, allowing the arrival of more nutrients to our cells, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, also at the level of fatty tissue where it burns the content of adipose cells because it stimulates the metabolic processes thanks to the oxygen released in the adipose panicle.

What aspects can be improved with this treatment?

Carboxytherapy is especially indicated for:

  • Cellulite and localized fats: eliminating localized fat through the mechanism of better vascularization, increasing the metabolism that burns intracellular fat, breaking down fat globules by a mechanical effect, it also improves circulation and lymphatic drainage.
  • Stretch marks: because it stimulates the production of collagen that fills in the break in the skin (stretch marks).
  • Flaccidity: because it stimulates the formation of collagen, and elastin, helping to improve the firmness of the skin.
  • Dark circles: stimulates circulation and the thickness of the skin in the region, improving the tone of the dark circles, does not allow the transparency of the blood vessels, improving the bluish color of the area.
  • Alopecia: since stimulating circulation it improves the hair follicle, achieving excellent results with the combination of other techniques.

Through carboxytherapy, can we improve facial treatments?

Of course, Carboxytherapy, improving the oxygenation of the area and stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the cells, help to maintain and improve all the facial treatments we perform for longer.

In what areas can it be done?

The areas to be treated can be facial, capillary and body. All areas can be susceptible to treatment since carbon dioxide will stimulate and improve cellular circulation.

What professionals should perform Carboxytherapy? Why?

Carboxytherapy treatment, like all aesthetic medicine treatments, must be performed by a doctor trained to handle the procedure, to give a proper diagnosis and treatment, achieving the excellent results offered by this technique.

What is a carboxytherapy session like?

A session begins with an interview with the professional, who will be the doctor responsible for the diagnosis, the indication, and the number of sessions, as well as whether or not it requires a combination with other treatments. Once the medical history has been made, with the signature of the corresponding consents and photos, topical anesthesia is placed if necessary and carbon dioxide injection is carried out.

The sessions can last approximately, depending on the area to be treated, between 20/30 minutes. Once the treatment is finished, you may notice slight inflammation in the area that reverts immediately or after approximately 30 minutes, being able to return to your activities.

Is it a painful treatment?

Formerly the treatment used to be painful because the temperature with which the carbon dioxide entered was very cold. Nowadays the equipment has evolved and carbon dioxide is heated to a suitable temperature by the program used in the device. However, it continues to be annoying, but only during the moment of administration, improving immediately, this is due to the detachment of the tissues that occurs when the CO2 enters.

Can the patient follow his usual routine when leaving?

Exactly, when leaving the consultation, the patient can return to his usual activity. It requires only minimal care such as not being exposed to the sun, using sunscreen, and consuming at least 1.5 liters of water per day.

Is it normal for the treated area to appear with bruises after treatment?

Yes, it is normal for bruises to appear. We must not forget that they are punctures and that when we perform them we can injure a small vessel and produce a hematoma. They are treated with a cream that your doctor will indicate promptly and will resolve after 3/5 days.

How many sessions are usually held?

The number of sessions will depend on the treatment and the medical evaluation but in general, the treatments vary between 10/15 sessions.

When will the results be seen?

The results of the Carboxytherapy treatments begin to be noticed in the patient from the 4/5 session, although we have patients who from the first already notice results, it will also depend on the objective of the treatment.

Do I have to do maintenance sessions so that the results last after a while?

All aesthetic medicine treatments require maintenance and Carboxytherapy is no exception. Maintenance treatments depend on the area and the objective. Normally, a treatment block of 5 sessions is carried out approximately every 4/6 months.

What recommendations should patients follow for the results to last?

Carry out an orderly life with adequate nutrition and physical activity, and go to your doctor for scheduled check-ups.

Does this treatment have any side effects?

Side effects can be minimal, erythema, mild burning, pain or discomfort during the injection, and bruising that resolve in 4/5 days.

Can carboxytherapy be combined with any other treatment to enhance the results?

Carboxytherapy alone is an excellent treatment with the appropriate indications and guidelines, but on many occasions, we can combine it with other treatments, always achieving better results as in all good synergy.
