Star Wars: Marvel Is Adapting The Mandalorian Into A Comic Series

The Mandalorian’s appearance in Disney Plus’s The Book of Boba Fett brought Star Wars fans great joy. After passing his first two seasons and longing for the third, his presence in the bounty hunter series meant a huge success.

Now a new scenario arises for Din Djarin, the character played by the Chilean Pedro Pascal: the Marvel comics. Yes, as it reads: with Disney owning Marvel and Star Wars, The Mandalorian is coming to a magazine format.

According to Hypebeast, the comic series will span eight issues and will be based on the first season of The Mandalorian, following Din Djarin’s discovery of Grogu, the lovable Baby Yoda.

Rodney Barnes is in charge of writing it while the illustrations are provided by Georges Jeanty.

“The Mandalorian story checks a lot of boxes for things that I’m passionate about,” Barnes said, quoted by Hypebeast. “I love westerns, fantasy, science fiction, comedy, drama…it’s a dream gig for any writer. I am glad I was chosen for this task!” he stated.

Barnes was a co-executive producer on Everybody Hates Chris, ‘Til Death and Those Who Can’t. He has worked writing graphic novels for Marvel and Lucasfilms such as Lando: Double or Nothing; Lion Forge’s Quincredible, Marvel’s Falcon, and Secret Empire.

Meanwhile, illustrator Jeanty noted: “I’ve always thought that an artist’s style is a lot like writing in shorthand. It is very subjective. What I bring to Star Wars is my detail and love for a galaxy far, far away.”

Jeanty is known for drawing the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight comic book and Bishop: The Last X-Man.

“Star Wars, especially when it comes to bounty hunters, is a messy landscape. I love drawing all the little details. My look has always been detail-oriented, and with The Mandalorian, there is so much going on with the character and in the background… I hope to visually add to the already rich tapestry that makes up this universe!” Jeanty said.

The Mandalorian is expected in comics since June of this year, and more information about this work of art expected by fans of the series and franchise can be seen on the official Star Wars portal.

Meanwhile, the third season of The Mandalorian on Disney Plus would arrive at the end of 2022.
