THE CHESTNUT MAN, A DANISH PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER, IS AVAILABLE TODAY ON NETFLIX.

The Chestnut Man, a Danish character-driven psychological thriller with roots in the Nordic noir genre, comes from the creator of The Killing.

The series is based on Sren Sveistrup’s breakthrough novel, which has been translated into 28 languages and published in 50 countries.

The Chestnut Man takes place in a quiet Copenhagen neighbourhood when the police make a horrible discovery on a stormy October morning. One of a young woman’s hands is gone after she is brutally murdered at a playground.

A little man-made of chestnuts sits next to her. Naia Thulin (Danica Curcic), an ambitious young detective, is entrusted to the investigation, along with her new partner, Mark Hess (Mikkel Boe Flsgaard).

They soon discover a particular piece of evidence on the chestnut guy, evidence linking it to a girl who went missing a year ago and was assumed dead – the daughter of politician Rosa Hartung (Iben Dorner).

THE CHESTNUT MAN — debuts on Netflix Australia on Wednesday, September 29th at 5 p.m.
