Persuasion: Netflix releases the trailer and release date for the new adaptation of Jane Austen, starring Dakota Johnson

Following the success of ‘The Bridgertons,’ Netflix has been craving more historical romance dramas and has released another literary adaptation, this time of a classic: ‘Persuasion’ is the latest version of the Jane Austen book that has previously been adapted into a television series. Victorian loves stories

Carrie Brucknell makes her directorial debut with the movie “Persuasion,” which also stars Dakota Johnson (from “Suspiria”).

It depicts the narrative of Anne Elliot, a lady who was dissuaded from marrying the guy she loved at the time by her family, despite the fact that she wanted to marry him at the time.

Unexpectedly, many years later, the man who had once been her suitor comes back into her life.

We get a glimpse of the Victorian era and the sardonic tone that is characteristic of many of Jane Austen’s works when we watch the trailer for the film.

In addition to Dakota Johnson, the cast also includes Cosmo Jarvis (‘Lady Macbeth,’ Henry Golding (‘Crazy Rich Asians,’ Richard E. Grant (‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?,’ and Suki Waterhouse (‘The Unforeseen of Love,’ respectively), all of whom have previously appeared in other films.

Although it is not one of Jane Austen’s most well-known works, “Persuasion” is among the author’s devoted readers’ top picks for favorite titles.

It has been adapted numerous times in the past, including a miniseries that aired on the BBC in 1960 and two television movies directed by Roger Mitchell and Adrian Shergold, respectively, both of which starred Sally Hawkins.
