Monica Zevallos after leaving Peruvian TV
Mónica Zevallos became one of the great figures of Peruvian television, obtaining a large legion of fans. During her heyday, the television host competed with Gisela Valcárcel and Magaly Medina, who at that time were just beginning their careers in the world of the small screen to try to gain public appreciation.
The one that was once called ‘La suavecita’ had spaces with panellists who talked about their daily problems, very much in the style of “Laura en América”; however, she was also the presenter of more ambitious programs such as “It’s worth dreaming.”
With a won audience, Mónica Zevallos decided to step aside from Peruvian television more than 10 years ago and now she is dedicated to a totally different field. The 53-year-old former driver leads a life away from the public eye.
Today, many wonder about the life of this Huanuco woman who toured Peru’s main channels such as Panamericana TV and Latina in the 1990s and early 2000s.
Monica Zevallos lives in Miami, Florida. She kicked off 2022 by announcing on Instagram that she now works for a company as a real estate agent.

So here I am, guys. Count on me whenever you want,” she wrote on her account, where she has more than 3,964 followers.
Former television host Mónica Zevallos continues to maintain her characteristic short, straight, blonde hair. In networks, she is seen sharing family moments, especially with her two children: Alonso (25 years old) and Michaela (23 years old), who have already finished their university studies.
In 2011, Mónica Zevallos told Karla Casós in an interview that she tried to have more children, but suffered miscarriages and the methods did not work.
“There were actually three losses and two in vitro attempts, then I understood that I already had two beautiful children and that I should be thankful for that. It was very difficult because I would have wanted to have one more or many. I always dreamed of a big family. Living those moments were horrible. The sadness is very great and I know that thousands of women who struggle to have children go through this pain many times,” she said at the time.
In 2009, Mónica Zevallos returned to the screens, but from Puerto Rico, with the program “Mónica en Confidencia”. In that space, she addressed problems in that country, and this became her last appearance on television.
The husband of former television host Mónica Zevallos responds to the name of Jimmy Arteaga, who serves as president of programming, production and promotions for Wapa TV in Puerto Rico. The executive began his television career in 1982, at Panamericana Televisión, as a reporter for the 24-hour central newscast.
