The young British star Millie Bobby Brown will shoot in the next few days in the historic Portuguese town of Sortelha (north) the film “Damsel”, a film by the Spanish Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.
The actress, who plays the role of Eleven in the series “Stranger Things”, is already in Portugal and has published several images on social networks with her partner, Jake Bongiovi, son of singer Jon Bon Jovi.
Brown, 18, will star in and executive produces “Damsel,” in which Fresnadillo, an Oscar nominee for the short “Handcuffed,” will feature a screenplay by Dan Mazeau (“Wrath of the Titans”). In the film, the actress will play Elodie, a trusting princess who marries a prince but discovers that a dragon will sacrifice her. The Sortelha authorities have announced restrictions during June in different parts of the village to facilitate the recording of this Netflix tape.
Where will the movie be filmed?
Sorthela, one of the twelve “Historic Villages” of Portugal, is a border town of medieval foundation that still preserves structures such as its castle, built at the beginning of the 13th century.
According to local media, the recordings of the film were also made in other historical places in Portugal, such as the Batalha Monastery and the Convent of Christ.
Portela plans to shoot other films, such as the one scheduled for October to record the film “Zacarías”, set in the 20th century, by Mozambican filmmaker João Nuno Pinto.
