Cooper Noriega: TiKTok star dies at 19 after video about dying young

Cooper Noriega, who had nearly 2 million followers, died Thursday, just hours after uploading a grisly TikTok video.

Cooper Noriega, a TikTok star from California with 2 million followers, died Thursday after he showed a bizarre video discussing how to die young. Given this, Internet users are dismayed by what happened since the boy was barely 19 years old.

The tragic news came after a person called the emergency services after finding the unconscious influencer in the parking lot of a shopping center near Los Angeles. Paramedics were unable to resuscitate Noriega.

It is not known why he died

So far, reports indicate that the cause of death is not yet known. What did come forward is that Cooper was in a vehicle and showed no signs of physical trauma, so officers do not suspect a crime. The body is scheduled for an autopsy so authorities can get more details about his mysterious death.

The heartbreaking news broke just hours after Noriega posted a video of himself lying in bed with the caption, “Who else is thinking they’re gonna die, young man.”

Before his passing, the young star announced on Instagram on June 4 that he was starting a Discord page “strictly for mental health.”

“I’ve been fighting addiction since I was 9 years old, you may think it’s crazy, but that’s the life I’ve been given. I would like to use the influence that they have given me to create a space based on spreading awareness and normalizing conversations about mental illness,” he indicated then.

Social Media Sensation

At the time of his death, Cooper had 1.7 million TikTok followers and 95.7 million likes, as well as more than 427 thousand followers on Instagram. He was known for posting lip sync videos and short sketches.

In his last video before he died, which had more than 1.2 million views, the young man showed clips from his recent June 1 appearance on the Barstool Sports “BFFs” podcast with Dave Portnoy, Josh Richards, and Bri Chickenfry.

Noriega’s passing joins the deaths of TikTok stars this year. In January, TikToker Candice Murley, 36, mysteriously died several days after claiming “the voices in her head had gone silent.”
