Break My Soul: Beyoncé in her new single, after six years of absence

Beyoncé’s return, after six years of absence from the music scene, took place at midnight tonight.

With a house rhythm, the American artist released the first song of her next album Renaissance, which will be released (complete) on July 29.

“You won’t break my soul” (You will not break my soul, by its translation into Spanish) sings the artist in the chorus of her single and officially announces her return: ” Bey is back and I sleep peacefully at night / The queens in front”.

“Feels surreal to be on a song with Queen Beyoncé again,” rapper Big Freedia, who also collaborated on the 2016 hit “Formation,” wrote on Twitter. “So honored to be a part of this special moment. I am eternally grateful, sir. Somebody grab me, please.”

Beyoncé is the artist with the most Grammy Awards in history (48), first as leader and vocalist of the group Destiny’s Child and the others won solo.

The artist and her husband, the musician, producer, and manager Jay-Z, with whom she has three children, are considered one of the richest couples in the world, according to Forbes magazine.

Apart from music, Beyoncé has been an actress in films such as “Austin Powers in goldmember” (2002), “The Pink Panther” (2006) or “Dreamgirls” (2006) with which she got two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress-Musical or Comedy and Best Original Song for “Listen”. In 2009 she returned to the big screen with “Obsessed”.

Beyoncé announced through her social networks that a new album will be released on July 29. This is the first in six years —after “Lemonade”, published in 2016—, it will be titled “Renaissance” and will start with “act 1”, from which it can be deduced that it will be a work of several parts.

After “Lemonade”, from his performance at Coachella (United States, 2018) he recorded the documentary “Homecoming”, which pays homage to American colleges and universities for blacks.

At that time, he also premiered the new version of the animated classic “The Lion King”, in which he gave his voice to the character of Nala, and from which he was inspired for his latest collaborative musical work: “The Gift” (2019).
