Gowtam Tinnanuri’s 2019 Telugu film Jersey is being remade as an Indian Hindi-language sports drama by Gowtam Tinnanuri. A cricketer, Mrunal Thakur, and Pankaj Kapur also feature in the film. Allu Entertainment, Dil Raju Productions, Sithara Entertainments, and Brat Films are involved in the production of this film.
The film’s official announcement was made in October 2019, and filming began on December 13th in Chandigarh. The release date was originally set for 28 August 2020, however the COVID-19 pandemic pushed it back. On December 14, 2020, the film was finished. The film will premiere in theatres on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, 2021.
Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor which was released in theatre on Dec 31 has become the latest target of piracy sites such as Tamilrockers, Telegram, Movierulz among others.
