Blurr Movie Review: Taapsee Pannu again shows her strength on OTT

Taapsee Pannu has become a thriller specialist over the years. After thrillers like ‘Badla’, ‘Game Over’, ‘Haseen Dilruba’, ‘Loop Lapeta’ and ‘Dobara’, now ‘Blurr’ is releasing on OTT. ‘

The film Blurr is the Hindi remake of the Spanish psychological thriller Julia’s Eyes, the story of which is based on the backdrop of Nainital. Where two twin sisters named Gautami (Taapsee Pannu) and Gayatri (Taapsee Pannu) live.

Blurr is Taapsee Pannu’s fourth film this year after ‘Loop Lapeta’, ‘Dobara’, ‘Shabaash Mithu’. Taapsee Pannu wanted to make ‘Blurr’ in her own way, so she produced the film herself. The film is the Hindi remake of the Spanish psychological thriller ‘Julia’s Eyes’. Taapsee Pannu plays two twin sisters in the film.

The story of the film ‘Blurr’ is based on the background of Nainital. One day when Gayatri reaches her sister’s house with her husband Neel (Gulshan Devaiah), she finds her dead body hanging from the noose. Both inform the police. After investigation by the police, it appears to be a case of suicide. But Gayatri is not convinced, she starts looking for the reason behind her sister’s death. Meanwhile, there is a fatal attack on Gayatri, but she survives. After this, her husband tells a secret, hearing which she becomes enraged. Amidst so many problems, Gayatri manages to uncover the mystery of her sister Gautami’s death.

The biggest feature of thriller films is that the thrill of the audience remains till the end of the film. But after watching Blurr, such excitement does not remain. Taapsee Pannu plays the twin sister, the two characters have a lot in common. Gayatri loses her eyesight while finding out about her sister’s death and becomes blind like her sister, here the logic is not understood why Gayatri becomes blind like her sister Gautami? Being twin sisters, it is not necessary that the disease that one sister has, the other sister also has the same disease.

Kasauti Logic’s doctor advises Gayatri that if the eye operation is not done soon, then her eyesight can go anytime. Not only this the light is like poison to his eyes. Struggling with her personal problems, Gayatri goes and meets different people. Inquires about his sister. Meanwhile, someone starts stalking her, oblivious to all this, Gayatri learns that her sister had a boyfriend too. Similar incidents start happening with Gayatri, as happened with her sister.

A target audience film, the story of the entire film revolves around who killed Gautami. Is Gayatri’s husband Neel involved in her murder? In this way the story keeps moving forward and it is felt that the audience has seen such stories many times before in films. The story of the film revolves around only three to four characters and it does not take long for the audience to understand who might have killed Gayatri’s sister. Taapsee Pannu believes that there is a niche audience for thriller films and she has made Blurr keeping in mind that niche audience.

Responsibility on Taapsee Pannu’s shoulders The entire film rests on Taapsee Pannu’s shoulders, in such a situation Taapsee Pannu’s responsibility increases a lot, but in the film she was seen only Taapsee Pannu, she needs to get out of her comfort zone . Taapsee Pannu liked the story of the film and could make the film Blurr in her own way, so she produced the film herself. The audience has been seeing Taapsee Pannu in a stressful character for a long time and now she should move away from this and play a different type of character. Apart from Taapsee Pannu, Gulshan Devaiah could have been a strong link in the film, but he got very little screen space, the acting of the rest of the actors in the film is average.

Dull direction by Ajay Behl, who has directed films like ‘BA Pass’, and ‘Section 375’, is a bit weak this time in Blurr, the specialty of thriller films is to keep the audience engaged till the end, but The film loses its grip after five minutes. Generally, the specialty of such films should be that the curiosity of the audience remains from the beginning till the end. The only specialty of the film is that even after becoming blind, how a girl does not even care about her life to find out the mystery of her sister’s death.

The technical team showed the wonderful film Blurr has been shot in Nainital. Sudhir Chowdhary’s cinematography is a treat to the eyes. Sudhir Chaudhary has presented the beautiful plains of Nainital very beautifully. Some scenes of the film are long which needed some editing. The music of the film is average. The specialty of the film is that the background music of the film is good which keeps the scene tied. Full credit for this goes to Ketan Sodha.
