The floating cabins at Clawford Lakes Resort and Spa in Devon will launch in April 2022. There are six new lodges erected over the private lake to select from. From their own private terrace, guests will get a view of the river and the Devonshire countryside. Even if the weather isn’t cooperating, you can still enjoy the view from the floor-to-ceiling glass windows that overlook the lake.
The lodges have kitchens and living areas, as well as flat-screen TVs and dining areas. They can accommodate up to four people, with a double bed and a couch bed, making them suitable for both couples and families. You are welcome to bring your pets as well, since dogs are permitted free of charge.
Water sports such as paddle boarding and kayaking will be accessible beginning this summer, with the new infinity swimming pool and spa set to open in July. If you choose to eat out, there is an onsite restaurant and bar called The Apple & Grape, which serves gastro-pub dishes created with local products and ales. The lodges are also close to Dartmoor National Park and Cornwall’s north shore.
“Our brand-new floating lodges offer visitors to enjoy the best of both worlds, with the peacefulness of a boat on the water and the elegance of a traditional lodge,” Lakeshore Leisure Group president Stephen Twiss told Devon Live.
“Our goal with these lodges was to present visitors with breathtaking views that they will never tyre of, making them the ideal romantic escape for couples who can spend their time looking through the massive windows or lounging on their private terrace right on the lake.
“These lodges prioritized luxury, and their proximity to the lake makes them the ideal setting for a peaceful and restful visit.”
They are presently offering 10% discount in their New Year’s sale, which means a two-night stay for a family of four would cost £630, or less than £80 per person each night.
If you still want a Maldives-style vacation without the price tag, you may stay at a resort in Greece that features Europe’s only overwater villas.
