Another evolution. After OPPO presented the Reno6 Pro + Detective Conan edition model, now it is Xiaomi who seems to confirm that electrochromic panels will be invading the market. Reports claim that the Chinese firm is already working on its own version of the phone that can change color on its own.
The information comes from Digital Chat Station, one of the most recurring leakers in China. As revealed, Xiaomi would already be in the testing phase with its phone whose rear panel could be photochromic or electrochromic, and low consumption.
Both technologies use different techniques. In electrochromic, for example, voltage is applied to change the color of the paint adhered to the panel. The brand would have to decide between some of these two options that are already present on the market.
Another example is the recent Vivo S10, one of the phones with a photochromic panel on the back, which can change according to light exposure. This particular model alternates between an orange or blue hue as it captures sunlight, after a reaction to ultraviolet rays.
The OPPO Reno6 Pro + Detective Conan Edition that we mentioned at the beginning uses electrochromic technology that changes from silver to red as it picks up voltage through the glass. According to the mentioned source, Xiaomi is more likely to adopt the latter option.
